rebel421cc Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 A CAST piston NOT ME. When they let go, they let go. Skirts breaking off going into bottom end contaminating the crank possibly trashing the bearings on the crank. Every thing happens below the pin. Now you got to pull the motor split the cases to clean that mess up. A wiseco forged piston if anything lets go it's above the pin that lets go top end only has to be removed. Keep this in mind before you deside. If you still deside to go with a cast piston I'd go with pro-x i runthem in my 410 big bore been in there for almost a year now and still no problems Quote
PassionRE Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 stay away from them... stick with wiseco.. Would have to agree with Loco on this one. Had a set of big bore Banshee WSM's let loose on the dyno and lost the cases out of the deal. Intake bridges on both sides broke out and trashed the cases bigtime. Both bridges busted out on the same pass...what are the chances of that?....Jim Quote

I'm running WSM's now, they are forged just like Wiseco, and have teflon coating to help them through break in. Bike ran great last weekend, but time will tell. Supposedly these make a little more power than the Wiseco Blaster pistons (Big Bore Pistons). Never had problems with wiseco, but Nate McCoy recommended these for my particular motor. He did mention that the motor needs to be ported around the pistons though otherwise you will have problems with them (meaning ported differenetly than if I were to use Wiseco Blaster Pistons). I don't know what he changed, but this could explain the problems some people are having with them. Edited October 30, 2007 by Justintoxicated Quote
