ssilverado60 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Hey guys, Im planning on running 2 HID lights on my bike and I dont really want to run a battery if i dont have to. I dont care about running lights when the bike is off. All I care about is reliably getting my HIDs to fire. I am going to run 2 vison x bulbs in my stock headlights. I know I would be better off with a different lense but I dont like the look of any other headlights that I have found. If anyone knows of some HID lights that are close to the size of the factory lenses I may be interested in those as well. But anyways, has anyone run a pair of HIDs off of a capacitor and which size would you recommend? If not what would be the smallest and lightest battery I could run? thanks Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Trail tech sells capacitor kits for running hid's. I know the owner of visionx, he is a friend of mine and there main office and warehouse is in Algona, wa. Did you talk to Nick there about this? Quote
ssilverado60 Posted October 12, 2007 Author Report Posted October 12, 2007 No I havent, they are just the only place Ive heard of that makes a HID bulb that will fit in the stock lenses. And Ive heard pretty good things about their stuff and that its reliable and can take the abuse. Should I call nick direct? I havent done much searching yet as far as finding them and getting them for a decent price Quote
ssilverado60 Posted October 12, 2007 Author Report Posted October 12, 2007 is it the 56000 uf Capacitor? that is the bigger one on their website, or is there another one that I need to call about? thanks again Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Well yes call Nick direct. I dont know which capacitor, probably run the one they think will handle it. I haven't ran a capacitor yet. I did a dc conversion and a battery for a guy so he could run hid's. Quote
