WALLACE84 Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Its not a shee but please bare with me. This is the first time I haved to ask someone else whats wrong with any of my bikes. One is a 96 cr125 and I had it sitting at my shop for about a year. I drained the gas and oil and cleaned the filter before I took it back out. The first day back out, she ran somewhat good but had a little bog. I let it sit for about another 2-3 days because I had to get front brake pads and front tube. I just it back out today and its 20x worst. I have to pin it just to start it and when I try to do a holeshot all she does is bogs. When I hit top, she comes to life more but feels like a turtle could beat me. I was thinking jetts but shes dialed in. Any advice? Thanks -Dan Quote

dajogejr Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Remove and clean the carb out...even though you drained the gas. I'd bet the pilot jet is somewhat plugged (I use a piece of speaker wire to clean the tiny holes in it) and your main might have some gunk on it too... Running the bike might have broken up some gunk and caused it to lodge elsewhere in the jets from sitting for a few days again.... Could be the ignition...but I'd definitely clean the carb real, real good before I spent money elsewhere.... Quote
WALLACE84 Posted October 11, 2007 Author Report Posted October 11, 2007 Yea, I forgot to add that I cleaned the carb real good after it started to do it. I think the ignition is the next thing im going to check into Dave. It might even need to be rebuilt. Thanks for the advice fellas  Quote
dajogejr Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Not to sound like a jerk...Dan...but you cleaned 'em real good as in took them completely apart, removing all the brass jets, needle/seat/floats and everything?? I've had someone tell me they cleaned the carbs good. Then I dismantled them down to bare body and brass laying all over....and they said "uh...I didn't clean them that good"... If so...I'd agree and say ignition next. Try a brand spanking new plug, even if you just bought one...just for giggles. Might want to pull the ignition cover off, make sure there's no rust/moisture or anything else like that... Bikes sitting for a long time like that come up with some crazy problems.... I know the 97 CR 250 had an electronic type power jet in them....does the 96 125 have anything similar?? Quote
