painting casses

ok so im been making my motor look good i powdercoated everything on it gloss black but i dont want to take the motor apart so i can powder the cases so i was wondering if i could paint them

Couple things... You are going to have the jugs off to PC them arent you? If so, just mask everything off, and paint them how you want em. Something to think about, you are into the build this deep, you have everything apart now, it would be VERY easy to split the cases and check everything out. How much time is on the motor? If you need your crank welded, this would be a good time, if any seals or bearings need checked, good time for that too. Just something to think about since you are in the build this far anyway. I think you would like the cases powdercoated better then painted too. Gas will eat the paint off, and the PC is a little tougher then paint when it comes to gas ect... Just my 2 cents, either way will work fine. :thumbsup:

you can paint it, just tape it all off and spray it. I would use a spray gun and good paint though. Put junk nuts on everything, then put your good nuts on after you spray it.

i rebuilt the motor last year not much time on the more probaly like 40hrs, and plus i know if i strip the motor all the way down i will end up building a 10mm stroker power vavle lol, but my dad says he has a heat lamp at the horse farm so i might be able to powder the cases it will just take alot longer for the powder to cure

um yeah, dont do a half as powdercoat job. Do it right, or dont do it at all.

i will do it right, you can use a heat lamp, and dont worry i dont half ass anything when it comes to the banshee
