OpEnUpYourEyE Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 I have a 98 Banshee of course. I has been bored just over stock (lost a filter at the dunes). I don Quote
theshee Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 If you are going to race look at a cub, for a duner look into a 4 mil crank and a dune port from Jeff at FAST. Rippen has that setup and he has a great dune bike. Friggin thing would climb a mountain. Quote
OpEnUpYourEyE Posted September 12, 2007 Author Report Posted September 12, 2007 So this 472cc , 72 mm bore Cheetah Super Cub Cylinder only for 4mm stroker crankshaft. All-new crank by Hot Rods. 115mm Long Rods with 4mm stroke and 8-ball main bearings. Trued and Welded. Does not require case modification, uses new Wiseco Long Rod pistons and special gasket kit. Can also be used in many different piston combinations, depending on personal preference. What is dune port from Jeff at FAST? Quote
theshee Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 That motor you posted would be a pretty potent drag motor. The dune port I am talking about is a Stock cylinder port job, and you add a 4 mil crank. It is more of a "dune" motor then the supercub. It would also cost about 1/4 as much. Go to www.farmandsandtoys.com, get the phone number and call jeff. He will get you hooked up. Quote
OpEnUpYourEyE Posted September 12, 2007 Author Report Posted September 12, 2007 I want to go big, pluse in the long run wouldn't it be pointless to put money into the stock moter? Quote
theshee Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Not really, if you go too big you will not have a dune bike, you will have a drag bike. Drag bikes suck ass to just dune ride. The biggest I would go for a dune bike would be a 421 cub. Thats a 4mil cub. I had one, it was damn fast and was duneable. Here is the thing, you get a cub you are going to need an lockup, the lockup cover, the cylinders, pistons, head, different pipes, more swingarm... there is a lot to it. If you have the $$ go for it, but do some research on stock cylinder ports before you buy a cub motor. There are plenty of damn fast and very strong stock cylinder dune bikes out there. Quote
