you gona be on pavement ? for one thing you need to get rid of that 13 tooth front sprocket and at least do to a 15 . i run 15 41 with 20s and its not near enough gear , traction is everything if you cant get the power to the ground its no good ,

this is more like who has more top end. It's gonna come down to how is gear best. Put a 15 or 16 tooth front on there. Your gonna spank the z400 but he might catch u on top.

You need at least a 15... IMO you should have him with that gearing.

I run a 15 41 with 20's I would be able to pull a 16. With a 15 41 and 18's your are closer to 14 41 with stock tires and that should be really similar to a stock z400 on top speed. If he turns out to have a few more mph due to gearinging you will lose because you are selling your engine short. gear to a 16 or 15 with 20's and that should do. it. That is a long race you will be out of gear before half way.
