dragbanshee Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Reason for asking is toomey recomends their perfect jet kit wich contains 280s & needles, well i got mine from alba and im pretty sure the needles are the same but, not sure about jets. Done plug chop on low end & mid plugs look good ,topend ran about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile, plugs porcolen was pure white like its really lean, wasnt sure if one run was enough to turn porcolen colors. missing a little down low , runs super strong midrange & top with no cuttin out or backbackfire 'pulls really hard'. Im about 850 asl K&N stock airbox 8 1 inch holes with filters boysen pro reeds needles 4 groove rich 25 pilots Toomey T5s 14&40 gears 1997 just purchased it, not sure may have adjustable timing plate.Iinstalled pipes & jetting new. Wondering if my jets are smaller than dynojets 280. Thanks for any input or recomendations. Quote

blue devil quad Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 should i move clip to 5th groove? stage 2 jet kit say you should be at 280s with clip in 3 slot air screw out 1.5 turns if your are 3000ft below sea level Quote

Snopczynski Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 The dynojet mains I had for my Rhino were not the same size equivelants to the stock main jets. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 And that's why I run Keihin or Mikuni jets. They SHOULD be the same...often they're not... Get Mikuni mains from your dealer, 3 or 4 bucks a pop, those dynojet needles should have 6 grooves, 4th from blunt end is correct. Might as well pick up a pair of 300s, just for the hell of it. Quote

dajogejr Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 What oil and mix ratio are you using? Fresh gas? Fresh plugs? What gap? Have you tried the air screw from 1/2 to 2.5 turns out, in 1/2 turn increments? I can tell you with holes cut in the lid and toomey pipes...stock pilots are just fine. Quote
