Anyone heard of the toomey hush kit causing a stroker motor, or adverse effects on a stroker motor when put on? I got a guy who wants to get one, but the owner of cascade told me they thought those hush kits were responsible for blowing up some mini strokers they had built.

Ummmm, noooooo! Tim the owner of cascade is a long time aquintance of mine. He is a very honest and straight shooting guy. One tell tale sign of this is the fact that cascade has been around since the early 90's. He told me they quit selling the hush kit about 4-5 years ago after several stroker motors bit the dust when it was installed on the bike. He also told me he would make silencers for this guys bike for $425, or send me the materials and cans to do it myself for $270 (cause the bike has cut T3's on it). I talked to the tech KID at toomey also. I could tell he hasn't been in the tech dept all that long. When I asked him about the hush kit on a stroker motor, he didn't sound 100% sure of his answer. He also used phrases like, "I haven't heard that", and "not to my knowledge". So, best bet is to ask here and see if anyone has used a hush kit on a stroker.

ive got a hush kit on my bike. of course im not stroked but the hush kit is working fine. toomey claims you get a bit more top end out of the t5 pipes with a hushkit installed. ill take their word for it. but i really like the sound of the exhaust. the hush kit quites down the popping sound of the exhaust and kind of makes it sound somewhat like a twin cylinder outboard motor.

it doesnt weigh much. its all aluminum and the housing is hollow.
