Whats your jetting in the carb? What carb is it? Whats done to the bike? mods on bike, vforce reeds, timing plate, t5's tors removed, parking brake removed, uni filter, pro flow plate. im not sure what jets are on the carb right now because i dont know how to tell?? i took the top off the carb, thats the spot were the throttle cable goes in. then a spring followed and a metal piece of aluminum with a long brass like needle coming out of the bottom??? whats that? then i took out the bottom of the carb, it was full of gasoline. is the main jet on the bottom. theres a brass screw like hex nut i took out as well? can anyone help me at this point??? thaNKS Quote
RIPRuck Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Peter.. Yes the Hex nut on the bottom is the Main jet. Should be some numbers stamped on the top of the hex head. I'm not sure what jets are supposed to be in those 2 in 1's but that would be where the main jet is, the biggest one in the middle. Quote

Snopczynski Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Thats the needle, you need to have an dek or eek needle in it with clip in about middle position to start. Also about a 185 main jet to start. I cannot stress the importance of checking your jets before you bolt a carburetor on. Not checking this stuff can lean out a motor and make it go boom! Quote
fox_forma Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 I think the avg jetting for that 2into1 is around a 185 main, 50 pilot with needle in the middle clip. Air screw turned out 1.5 turns Quote

fox_forma Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 clip is on the needle itself. Did you pull the slide and pull the spring back then slide the cable out? The needle is normally held down by something, either you need to unscrew the piece out then the needle falls out or its a push and turn type locking devise that holds the needle down. Once the needle is completely out there is a little clip on the top of it which looks like a "C". The positioning on that will tell you what slot it is in. If its a basic needle, there will be 5 slots, the 3rd slot down is the stock slot normally. Hope that makes sense...... Quote

Hope that makes sense...... that make perf. sense. i pulled the needle out and the needle said dek and the c clip was at the third slot from the bottom. so now that im running the 195 main, the 50 pilot c clip is at the third slot, it runs great as long as the air screw is all the way in. now should i increase or decrease the pilot jet so i can take out the air adj. screw alittle so its not maxed all the way in. fox_forma Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 if the air screw is all the way in bump the pilot jet up a few. Is there air filter nice and clean as well? Quote
peterlocal22 Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 if the air screw is all the way in bump the pilot jet up a few. Is there air filter nice and clean as well? should i try a 52 pilot? my filter is alittle dirty. i bought this real tackey spray for it. suppose to catch all the dirt. only ting is its too tackey. i remember i use to use a liwuad oily kind for my airfilters. it was a liquad that youwould poor into a bag, then through th filter in. any idea if they still make this stuff and the name, or should i stick with the gummy sticky stuff? thanks Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Where does it not run great when the pilot is screwed out? Quote
peterlocal22 Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 Where does it not run great when the pilot is screwed out? it runs good when the air screw is all the way in. if i back it out it doesnt run as good. now when i screw the air screw in am i making it so the banshee takes in more air or am i restricting the air that can come in? also it a 52 pilot jet letting more or less fuel in than a 48 pilot jet? thanks Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 I will ask again, where does it not run good? Example: Idle, 1/4 throttle. half throttle, etc........? Quote
