I have a banshee that will only rev up to around 1000-1500 RPM. I've searched a lot and the problem seams to be with the TORS, but I've disconnected the triangular plug at the TORS box, disconected both carb wires, disconnected the throttle plug. I left the one on the clutch connected, but the motor revs a little higher without pushing in this switch. When I push the button in on the end of the clutch switch the RPM's drop. I disconnected it completely from the harness and it does the same thing as when the button is out and when you jump the two wires it drops the RPM as if you were pushing the button in. Got any more ideas? Is there something that I'm not doing to eliminate the TORS system? Thanks in advance

tors makes the bike not run at all. The emergency brake switch has a low rpm govenor, it sounds like thats what your dealing with. What year is the bike? If you disconnected the switch and it doesn't rev, then you need to ground the switch wire for it to run right. Disconnect all the tors plug ins, and dont forget the tors module under the gas tank also. None of the tors wires should be touching each other.

I left the e brake switch hooked up because the revs do change when I push the switch in, but they don't fix it. So you're saying to hook up one of those wires directly to a ground? Which one? Thanks

On my buddies 98 I had to tie the two wires going to the parking brake switch together to get spark.

On my other buddies 2001 it started fine, but wouldn't rev out at all as well....I disconnected the parking brake/clutch wires and it was fine....

 

TORS can be fouled up and still let the bike run...but if you've disconnected everything as you say...that's not it.

well do whatever makes the bike rev higher with the switch. I believe when the contact in the end is all the way out is when the limiter is on.
