hollisatp Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I was thinking of buying new pistons. I read all the post about cast and forged and I am going to go with the cast.. is there going to be a hp gain that is noticeable with my setup? Quote
theeechozen1 Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 For cast go with Pro-X...pretty much a stock Yamaha replacement piston. You will not see a power increase with new pistons on a 2-stoke (I know Vitos claims power increases with there ported pistons) but get some port work done if you are craving more power. I've been running pro-x pistons for years and haven't had one come apart yet on any of my ported motors. Quote
hollisatp Posted July 23, 2007 Author Report Posted July 23, 2007 ok I hear ya.... any port jobs that wont take away power anywhere in the range? Quote
fck4strokes Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Yep I like the Pro-X pistons to always had good luck with them Quote
theeechozen1 Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 go with an MX or agressive trail port....that will keep your mid-range alive. Bore your stock carbs out and get rid of all the tors crap if you haven't done so already, with your pipes you should have good all around power. Quote
