A 280 main and needle at the top (I assume you mean top, or last groove towards the blunt end) I used to have to add one main jet size when I went to Silver Lake. I'm anal about checking my plugs. When I'd trail ride they'd be perfect. A couple of rips at the dunes, they'd be just a hair lean. However, sand puts more of a load on your bike than dirt trails and knobbies do...so...take that for what it's worth. I'm not saying you're wrong. But...I've done a lot of banshees in MI, most notably south east MI. With pod filters and T5 pipes (which, in 05 when I had a stock motor with bolt ons) I ran 330 to 340 mains, 27.5 pilots...and would up them to 350 for Silver Lake. Every bike is different, but unless you've done a proper plug chop with that setup...my educated guess from experience would be that bike is lean...
