I picked up a 94 banshee that has never been registered before. It was used for racing only. I am going to use it for trail riding. I need to register it in the state I live in to get a sticker for riding trails. I got a bill of sale when I bought it so that is good, but where is the VIN located on the bike at? There is a 9 digit # on the left side crank case, is that it? The frame has been painted and I do not see any other # on the bike. Any ideas?

It's underneath the frame, where the vin number is for the motor look on the frame underneath that ingraved in the frame that is your number for the frame.

Thanks I will go see if its there. My luck it will be sanded off

if its like michigan.. You have to call your police dept. they will come out.. inspect the bike then asign a vin#

Then. I'm not sure if your local dealer does it or waht not but you have to get the # that was assigned to you stamped into the frame.. checked into it awhile back when I bought my new chassis from the dealer. (they dont come with vin #'s) I just said da'hell with it because the secretary of state wanted me to make a list of every componet on the bike of where I got it and how much it cost, so they could charge me sales tax on it.

If the frames been painted, take fine sand paper or paint remover to clean that spot off. My frame numbers were under the painted frame when I bought mine. The numbers are very lightly stamped so look close iunless it's been grinded off.
