dajogejr Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 Magic only carries down to a 40... With a 2 into 1 carb...are you SURE you need something that small...normally they're mid to high 40's for those...especially ported. http://www.magicracing.com/Keihin-Pilot-Jets_p_717-62.html Quote

I called denniskirk cause they have them listed in there mag but they are 5.99 plus 7.00 shipping Quote
dajogejr Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 THat is very, very odd. Have you done a leak down test on it? All the ignition check out? Is the carb clean and passageways clear of all debris. I think you have a handle on it...but even in dual carb setups, normally 42 is the very smallest you see people use... I would think with a single carb...it would need to be a hair larger since it's supplying both cans... Quote
endofitall9 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Report Posted June 24, 2007 I agree , I've been trying to get this thing jetted in for a month now. it takes every day i have off. I rode lastweek since it is rideable. I just cant' get it to clear up all the way down bottom.. I put a new 35mm pwk to see if maybe it was the carb and can't get that one jetted in either all the ign is new and no airleaks so maybe the motor is just starving for air downlow today I put a 40 in there and coul tell a difference but thenit fouled a plug so I got pissed and put it up...oh well bnack at it again tomorrow. fox_forma Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 doesnt your pilot only effect idle to 1/8 throttle? If you bike starts up fine and idles fine I would think your issue is somewhere else, like the needle position. Maybe you need to throw in a different needle to get the proper response you want. I cant see a pilot jet helping you out in this situation. Quote

endofitall9 Posted June 28, 2007 Author Report Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) I'm selling the intake....the needle is a dek.. the carb pulls fine all through the gears and revs perfect but for some reson if you juust lug around in 1st gear off the pipe it want to load up or when it idles for a sec it will start to load up but as soon as you hit the gas your gone..I just can't lug it through the woods like I want to so I sold it..if I could have gotten this carb this intake to run like my stockers I would have never posted it on the forum..you run around off pipe take the plugs out and they are soaked switch to the stockers and lug it around the same way pull the plugs and they look perfect..I even switched to a brandnew 35mm pwk to check and see if my airstriker was bad but it still done the same thing..I've checked for airleaks.compression test, All my electrical is brandnew it just wont run off this for some reason but as soon as you put duals on it it like a damn rocketship that is perfectly tuned in... So I'm looking for some 30mm okos or some 33mm pwks anyone have some? Josh Edited June 28, 2007 by endofitall9 Quote
fox_forma Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 that carb will lug real low and real good, its not the pilot, its most likely the needle. The pilot mainly effects start up and idle, As soon as any throttle is given you are pretty much working off the needle and main the more it opens. I assume that when your lugging around your at 1/4 throttle or more. How many slots does your needle have for adjustment? Like mentioned about the leaner diameter needle, normally they will have a 6th slot which can let you fine tune it better. Wish I had some carbs to trade ya cause I would love to go back to the 2into1 set-up again. Good Luck with it though Quote
