RedDelPaPa Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Hi everyone. I just recently purchased a mostly stock 2004 banshee. Its only mods were Vforce1 reeds, and toomey t5 pipes and silencers. I'm attempting to build this banshee as a dune trail basher. I have purchased additional mods for this machine to help reach that goal. I have added a Pro Design coolhead with 18cc domes, and the Trinity CV carb system with the 35mil Kehin PWK. With all the jetting experience floating around in this forum under similar setups, I'd like to ask help for a good starting point concerning my jetting. I'm near Salt Lake City, Utah. Roughly 4000 to 4500 ft above sea level. Average temp is around 90F. With motor mods listed above. Thanks for any help, N8 Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 dek needle middle clip position, 48 pilot jet, air screw 2 turns out, 185-190 main jet. Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 first, check your compression to make sure your motor will be safe on pump gas. Startt at 175 main, thats what i ran at 2,800ft, so it'l still be a little rich, do a plug chop with it and get back to us... Quote
differentstrokes Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 I second that on the 175 main and 3rd clip/48 pilot. I think it will still be rich, but better to start off rich and work your way down. Quote
RedDelPaPa Posted June 3, 2007 Author Report Posted June 3, 2007 Thanks for the info gentlemen. I was told 18cc domes was as small as I could go for pump gas. My compression sits at 145. Both cylinders. I've noticed a mismatch on the trinity CV intake and the vforce1 reeds. Due to the design of these reeds, I don't think I can port them or the housing may break apart. What do you folks suggest I do with this issue? I've looked into something I've heard mentioned here, and that is reed stuffers. But I don't see anything workable for the 1st generation vforce reeds. Only the 3rd generation. Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Your compression is too low with 18cc domes, it should be upwards of 170 psi with 18cc dome. I run 20cc domes and mine sits at 155 psi. I realize your at a higher elevation, but it should still be 165 range with 18cc dome. Have you checked your squish? Needs to be .040"-.065" range. I run stock reed cages with carbon tech low-mid reeds and reed spacers. Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 Float height in the carb at 11mm too. Found out tonight mine was at 9.3mm, not good. Quote
