jmd0346 Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Well As some of you know I added the 30mm OKO a while back. I tell you Ive had nothing but trouble. Not sure if its the OKOS though. I can burn the plugs and get it to crank. It will run like a raped ape. I come back to the house cut it off. Turn it back on and kick it and no start. Kick, Kick, Kick. Nothing. Take the plugs out and they're wet. We've tried all sort s of different jet sizes all giving similar results. Well know after one ride it will not crank back up. No matter what we do. Starting fluid inlcuded. We checked the spark and it is sparking but to me it seems weak. I actually touched the side of the plug when my bro kicked it and it tickled at best. I have a new coil, new RS stator and flywheel.. It seems it has gotten progressivley worse since I changed all these components. I did notice the Stator got some grease on it from the dab we put on the woodrof key on the FW. Could this cause a weak spark? Right know Im at 42 pilots and 155 mains. I really dont think its a fuel issue. I think the spark may be weak. I have a Dyna ignition. Sould it be bad? I mean will it work halfass or is it one of those things that works or doesnt? RNBRAD Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 It's either low compression, bad reeds, or low to no spark. Quote

Snopczynski Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) Did you set the pickup coil gap? I see people slap on the stators quite often, not check the gap and the flywheel magnets rub on it and the pickup heats up then goes bad. Or its too far away and does not create enough spark intensity. Was it a 200w unit, or a stock replacement unit? Edited June 5, 2007 by Snopczynski Quote

The brand new RS stator gave up today an hour after we started riding. One of the little wires came loose so I soldered it back on. Later it quit again. The wire is still intact but theres no spark. I really think its just a junk stator. Thats two brand new stators to go out in a couple weeks time. They look and smell burnt up. Quote
