FireHead Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Look the same to me, except Ricky puts a crossbar on his mounts so when you adjust the lights they both point out at the same height. I was looking at the u shaped pieces of metal the lights mount on. Jay's do not look the same as the RS units.......................ought to stop talking though, as I don't know much about these products. :geek: Quote
Bansh88 Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Please don't try and bolt these lights up with a stock stator. I rode with a dude last summer who had a big set of PIAAs on a stock stator. He swore they were fuckin awesome. They spat out a dingy yellow glow. That was it. Pretty patheitc. Bigger lights like that should have some kind of crossbeam or frame. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted June 4, 2007 Author Report Posted June 4, 2007 Yeah i knew if i wanted to upgrade the lights i would have to go with a bigger stator. another thing is the stock lights on the bike now don't match the plug on the bike. I don't wanna hard wire it either and just rig it up. Quote
The Faster Cracker Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 so you can't run the PIAA light kit that you can get from yamaha wiht the stock stator? am i reading this right? Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 OK, we will make this easy Stock stator= 70watts of lighting combined between both your lights. If you have two lights and each one is more than 35w, the stock stator cannot handle it. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) so you can't run the PIAA light kit that you can get from yamaha wiht the stock stator? am i reading this right? Those lights aren't the same PIAAs that RS sells. My guess is that those are 35w a piece. But they do make 35w bulbs for the lights i previously posted so you could always go that rout if you just wanted bigger lights. http://www.rickystator.com/catalog/product...;products_id=75 Edited June 6, 2007 by EastCoast Banshee Quote
