alright, i have a jetting prob with my heap. its a 4mil longrod.. dune/play port thru fast. v3's, noss head w 20cc, 33pwks, trinity IV pipes, boss intake, +4timing.. i have 3" couplers from carbs to airbox with no lid and a k&n.. im at 1200ft.. 65-75degreesish..

current jetting

pilot 42

needle CGL second clip down from top...

airscrew 2 turns out

mains are great... i forget what it has..

my mix is 93w supertechniplate. 32-1

my problem- in tight trails if im in the low end for a bit, i get blue smoke.. then when i crack it through an opening, it sputters out thru the powerband til top end hits.. like it got loaded up. what should i do? ive been told that with 4mils 42pilot is like as low as they should be... but mine is still getting loaded up. and no, i dont ride it slow and lug it alot.. its just way fat still on the bottom.. is it because of my 3"couplers to the airbox thats choking me for air? i cant figure it out... should i just say piss on it and go with 40pilots? anyone have similar setups?

try putting your needle on the 3rd and 4th clip, bet its gasping for fuel till the main crams enough to get it to run correctly.

wouldnt making it richer make my problems worse? like if im in first gear it loads up so fast unless im full on the pipe at all times... making my lower circuts too rich correct?

you will have to ask jeff, but most bikes will like abit of fuel. your running a lean pilot and lean needle and lean clip. its hard to say being 1500 miles away. jeff lives about the same alt. he should be able to get it close.

i would just think after being ported it would like a bit of fuel to help with the new air flow

so i was talking to my local shop owner.. he used to work for yamaha for years and got fed up and started his own shop... hes been jetting banshees for a long time and he said for some stupid reason, at our elevation it seems like the banshees here run wonderful with CGQ needles... i have a CGL... like, the bike doesnt run like its surging and being lean... its litterally loading up while in low-mid (even on pipe) throttle.. he gave me the needles to throw in... said if it doesnt fix the problem and i dont see them being worth 50$, he'll take them back and not say a word. hahahaha... he told me he couldnt find them from anywhere other than some place down south who still makes them... like they discontinued this needle?? anyways.. ill give it hell tonight...

you can get those needles all day long, and they are 12 bucks if that not 50.

again call jeff and see what he says, your elevation is close to ks.

i still think the bike would like a bit of fuel but im not familar with jetting jeffs motors.

but this guy i would be very learny of taking his advice. but what do i know.

I agree with Wes...I'd pay 50 bucks if he was willing to throw those needles in and dyno tune it for you...surely not 50 just for needles (that...as pointed our, are readily available).

CEL is is a popular needle choice, but he might want 75 for them....

Nick...I'd do as Wes suggested. You might hear a few good jokes and some BSing...but Jeff can probably get you in the right direction, especially since it's his porting...

idk if my bike is just a tempromental bitch, but the CGQ needle fixed that middle end problem and such... it doesnt surge like its lean, or load up rich anymore... it did bump up my idle though...and ill be switching back to bigger pilots again... will that calm the idle down?

Are the air screws turned out less than 1/2 a turn? If not...the bigger pilots won't help....
