slides will affect off idle response. I sync my carbs as close as I can by eye. I use a feeler to even tem out on idle, then eyeball to make sure they lift together. Larger cuttaways run a carb leaner, and smaller richer. Make sure your cut away is facing the rear of the bike.

not while the bike is idle-ing. turned off filter(s) off air box off, on the idle screws or if no screws where ever it (slide) is seated with no throttle,. measure to see if they sit the same hight. after that, make sure they lift off at the same time side by side all the way up. Once you fix that, if you still have a bog,. adjust your air screws 1/4 turns in or out. if that doesnt fix it, do a plug chop to make sure your main is right on, then adjust your clip position, then air screws again.

if they hit all the way down,. it wont idle. they have to be raised a little. there is no specific height,. just enough to idle it.

well shee idles pretty good so i guess thats not the problem its just as you hit the gas just off of idle.....ill have to try adjusting the air screws and see if that has any affect....right now they are at 1 1/2 turns out

well i didn't change the clip postion (its on the 3rd clip of 6) when i took the carbs off to clean them.... i didn't change anything.... still same 280 mains and 25 pilots but for some reason something is not right.... gettin that just off idle bog.....one of the needles did look like it didn't line directly into the jet, had to play with it untill it went in.....is this a problem???

well i adjusted the air screws and seems to be a lot better but now the screws are only 3/4 of a turn out....is this bad or ok

3/4 out is ok, but if you end up a 1/2 or less you might want to invest in a bigger pilot.
