Ok guys

I got a friend that goes to this shop . The guy is rebuilding his motor for his banshee . The guy put in a new hotrods stock stroke crank and bored the stock cylinder from the 64mm bore all the way out to 66.5mm to make it a 362cc. The guy that is building the motor said he is got a lot of life left to bored again . What do you about this . I know 66.5mm is as far as you can go . Also it has taking 8 week to do the motor . The crank was on order for 3 weeks ( I got my new 4mil stroker in 2 work day from my shop). The motor is still not done yet and is going to take a few more weeks. This guy is not busy at all be his work is shit and a really good bull shitter

And I think my 2 friend on hq know who I

Tell your friend to STOP, and not let him bore it out. All he's doing is wasting overbores, and shortening the life he can expect. What happens if he puts it all together and has a leak in the intake boot and blows the motor. Its happened to more than one person on here, and if it happens to him, he's fucked and has to get new cylinders.

Not to mention, the power gains from boring the cylinder are minimal. A timing plate would be a bigger and cheaper power gain.

And a 66.5 mm bore would give a final displacement of 375 cc, not 362.

Only bore the cylinder when its needed, and only go as far as needed to clean the cylinder up.

It's to late the boring has been done I told him before he went to the guy that the guy doning the motor is a big fuck up its not my friend he is only a 16 year old punk and his dad goes by this guy word. I got my own motor builder but he would not drive a hr to go to him ,

Hey dude it happens. Let some people think what they will. The last time I tried to tell a dude, a neighbor of mine, how to install paddles he didn't believe me, big whoop right? Well he got them wrong and when he pulled up to our camp site at the sand I shamed him horribly! I was 16 at the time and he was ~40, he only made that mistake once.

It was actually pretty funny, he remarked how well they hooked up. So I said well, imagine if they were on forwards how much better it would be. Everyone there had sand experience and knew they were wrong, so he was laughed at by men, women and children.

Let the man make his mistakes, only then will a lesson be learned.
