FelixBC Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 I have just gotten a Vito's 404 big bore kit and a CPI 350 inframe exhaust for my 2003 banshee. This is the first mods that I've done to the bike ever. It has a K+N air filter with the lid removed. Need to know what the next steps should be for my bike? I'm looking as a good just all around trail bike. That's why I went with the set up that I have. Wondering what I need to do next Heads, Porting, Carbs, Reeds???? Any advise would be appreciated. Do you have anything specific that could help me out. Like a good head, reeds, all that? What should I focus on first? And do you think that my setup is good for what I'm trying to accomplish so far? dajogejr Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 33 or 35mm carbs, Mikuni or Keihin. Unless you're riding water and mud, remove the airbox and get clamp on filters. Get a clutch kit from Jeff @ FAST...that thing lasts forever...use 3 stock and 3HD springs. Get the stock crank welded and trued. Mill your head .020 or get a cool head with 21cc domes in it. (I say leave the compression lower so you can run pump gas, you did say all around trail bike) Boysen reeds on stock cages or VForce reeds/cages. Get an adjustable timing plate, set it at +4 timing.... That should round out the package. +2 arm should help, really +4 will be better, but it's not gonna turn trails quite as well... Get your stock rear shock valved for your weight, riding style and swingarm length... Pickup some aftermarket front shocks, Works makes a pretty good shock that won't kill the pocket book... Quote
