bansh03 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Im trading my 4x4 for a raptor. An 02.Is there any problems with the craptors other than that there 4-chokes? I had an 02 myself. The only problems I ran into were the stock air filter set up (sucked, same as the stock Banshee) you'll need a Pro Flow kit if it doesn't have one. The other problem was the external oil tank is made of very thin aluminum and mine cracked around the drain plug and I missed out on a weekend of riding. This is a fairly common problem, an aftermarket UM tank from Rocky Mountain ATV is a good way to go, plus it holds more oil than the stocker. Other than those problems, I was happy with it. Quote
theshee Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Is it the 01s or the 02s with the chronic tranny problem. I cant remember. Heck, even if its for you dont be ashamed or cover up for it, I would ride a raptor, (well I do ride one). They are fun bikes. If I wanted a stunt bike to jump and wheelie and do stupid shit on, a 660 raptor is what it would be! Quote

It was the 01 with the tranny problems, it was fixed on the 02, that's the main reason I waited for the 02 to come out before I bought one. As far as up keep, I kept the oil and filter changed and had the valves adjusted once int the 4 years I had it....pretty much just ran the crap out of it with no major problems.
