bklf7 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) How should I set my cabs up? My setup is T5s with a cool head with 20 cc domes and everything else is stock. Going to get this running soon so I need help asap. Thanks in advance. Edited April 18, 2007 by bklf7 Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 A lot depends on your elevation and temps, but you should be in the ballpark of 280-300 for the main jet, and 27.5 pilot. Quote
bklf7 Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) Well I am around sea level give or take a few hundred feet and will be running any where from 40 to 100. Also what octane should I run? Edited April 18, 2007 by bklf7 Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 93 octane up to 160psi compression, anything over 160 you should run 100 octane or more. I'm guessing with no porting, and 20cc domes your compression is probably a little over 160. I have a mildly ported cylinder w/20cc domes in the head and my compression was 159psi. I run 93 octane with a shot of octane booster in mine, no problems so far With your elevation being at sea level, I bet a 270 or 280 main and 27.5 pilot will be almost right on the money Quote
bklf7 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Thanks for the info. I guess I might try to look for some bigger domes so I dont have to worry about using octane booster. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 21cc domes would put you in the 150's range, being at sea level...and you'd be good to go  Only reason I even bother with the octane booster is just because I'm right on the border. If I was closer to 170psi I'd run 100 octane or higher. I wouldn't recommend using octane booster as a substitute for buying race gas when you truly need it though. Quote

Well just found out the old owner told me the wrong number, they are actuall 22s. I found the number etched on the dome itself. So I guess I shouldnt have to use any octane booster. Should I still run 280s? Edited April 20, 2007 by bklf7 Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 If you're running 22's you'll be perfectly fine for pump gas, I would recommend still trying to get a set of 21's, you'll like the added compression. Jetting will remain the same! Quote
