bansheeryder_69 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I was wondering if it's necessary to run the chain slider that guides the chain onto the back sprocket. We just put a new swingarm on my little bros banshee and the slider doesn't line up with the bolts and I was just wondering If we could just leave it off? thanks in advance. DILLON Quote
CFM Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Yes, run the slider. Modify the bolt holes in the slider or on the arm. Quote
swrbansheeboy Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) if your talking about the front chain slider that goes on the pivot tube at the frame then yes, you need it. if your talking about the rear guide in front of the rear sprocket then no, you dont need it. i have ran one of our bikes for several years without one but it does up your chances of the chain de-railing off the rear sprocket which can lead to it wadding up and busting your case so dont say you weren't warned...it is also a good idea to run the upper and lower chain rollers also... fastrthnu Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 if I modify the bolt holes it still isn't going to work right where did you get the slider from? Maybe its not the right one or it should fit. If its just barely off, you can just enlarge the hole in the slider a little. You want to have that rear slider on unless you have one of those spring tensioners on it. You have to have enough slack in the chain so its not to tight at full squat,... but if you have it right it can be very loose on a jump at 0 tension and fly off. Quote
