kansasvmax94 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 went to little sahara this weekend, rode all morning sunday in about 40-55 or so temp, ran good. As day got warmer, probably around 60-70, it began to miss in the mid rpm range while under Full throttle. I changed plugs that had been in there for a while, they were pretty dark. went back out, it still missed. ANy suggestions. FMF Fattys, Prodesign/K&N setup, TORS Eliminator, +4 ign advance, 290main Quote
okbeast Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Do you have the airbox lid on? There's a chance with the temp. increase that it got rich enough to start missing. Have you done any plug chops with the 290's? Quote

Have you done any plug chops with the 290's? i have the airbox lid off with the K&N Prodesign adapter setup. I have not performed a plug chop at this time. I plan on doing one tomorrow to see where im at. I guess where i don't completely understand the sticky thread on jetting is this: its missing at MID RPM, but im at full throttle, so wouldn't that probably be main jet adjustment since im at full throttle, or needle adjustments since its at mid rpm?? mpbanshee Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Jetting is based on throttle position, not engine speed. If it ran fine at 40 degrees, and started to stutter when the temp warmed up, you just need to drop a size or two on the mains, and you should be fine. Quote
