Last week I installed some oversized tires, now the gear ratio needs to be corrected. If I toss a new rear sprocket on a fairly used chain (and front sproket) to get though the weekend, will I run into any problems. Has anyone replaced the rear sprocket until you had time to get a new chain/ front sproket set installed? I dont want to get trap myself this weekend -thanks-

I think you should be alright for the weekend. Its usually the sprockets that have to be changed when changing the chain.

sounds like a winner- the more i read about gearing, im thinking about changing the front sprocket. i put the 22inch razor2's on the rear- they look like balloons! but they climb a hill like a champ- thanks

you should be fine. it's just a matter of it being best to change everything together if one or the other is worn significantly cuz it will cause premature wear on the new parts.
