avaiation fuel (av gas)

So right now my bike runs on 110 octane and I think that the heads are 18cc cool heads but the 110 is toooooo expensive, does anyone know what cc domes I get to run av gas.

Whats your compression?Mines at 158 and I used to run straight AV gas but decided to run 50/50 pumt/av and noticed it ran a little better and heard no weird noises.Then I went to 25 av 75 pump and it runs better.Im going to stay like this because my builder told me to.Do a compression test.

160-170 psi is a good spot for 100LL

Make sure you richen your mixture since AV fuel is oxygenated.

I suppose there is no point in me saying this, but not all Avgas is oxygenated. Not all Avgas is the same. Make sure you know what your buying and that the octane rating of AVgas tends to be by a different method than pump or race fuel. PLease do a search of this forum on this topic as it will definitrly yield some good information and a bit of entertainment.

 

Once you do that you will see where I stand on the issue.

I might be wrong but all the AV fuel by me is Oxygenated. I know a few people that run it in their racecars. and they go through it quicker than race gas. I stick to the pump gas 94.
