theshee Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Fired up the banshee today, decided to pull a plug to make sure I wasnt lean or anything. Anyway pulled it, plug was fine, got it put all back together and it would only run on one cylinder. Took me a while to figure out it was the damn plug wire not making a connection with the plug. Anybody else have this problem, sometimes it touches and connects, sometimes it doesnt... Is there an aftermarket plug wire thats better?? On a more positive note, after I got it running good, took it for a short spin around the house and it is sick. I cant beleive how its gonna run with paddles, because I did nothing but spin and still could barley hang on... gonna be a fun bike!!! Quote
400rednEX Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 you could put new ends on the plug wires. i had an intermittent miss that i traced to a bad connector in a plug boot. i put a $2 ngk one on and cleared it right up. Quote

I sat around pissed off for most of a night because I had figured I lost compression or something, I went to load it in the back of truck the next morning (now the engine is at my eye level) and i can clearly see one of the boots was sitting higher than the other on the plug. It took a little bit of beer for me to forget about that whole episode. :: Quote

I finally broke down and did the Nology coils and wires last year. I had a little help with the decision though, as the epoxy potting on my OEM coil started seperating from the terminals. It still worked, but it wasn't going to keep working much longer. Quote
