Just got an 03 Banshee engine off of eBay. It doesn't have a stator so I'm taking the ProDesign Adjustable Stator plate off my old engine. However, I don't have any instructions on how to install it. I basically matched the location on the old engine, but I believe it was set for +4. Question for you guys would be where can I locate the installation manual for this stator? I don't want to screw up the new engine by having the timing way off when I start it up for the first time. Is that even possible?

Thanks in advance.

PS. This site is amazing! Lots of good stuff.

Well you want to match the timing mark to the split in the case, as shown below:

to install do the following ( this is summed up, I hope i get everything)

Loosen flywheel locknut with an impact (best way)

Using flywheel puller, pull flywheel (if you have to, but looks like this is all off already?)

if so, just set your timing plate as shown, and tighten the three bolts.

Now position and tighten your stator down with the 3 bolts ( i like to use loctite)

reinstall the flywheel, try not to use the impact b/c if you strip the thresds you need a new crank!!!

good luck man, let us know if u have n e more problems, welcome to the HQ!

I noticed that yours is set at the case split at around +4. I set mine at +3 for starters. That should be okay to start with until I can get a timing light on it and set it exactly where I want, right?

Thanks for the picture. That helped a lot.

No man, no need for a timing light. Id go ahead and set it as +4, just make sure your compression is about 150 or less in each cylinder if u want to run 93 pump gas. Then let her rip!!

I just did mine, set it as +4, thats it-done. Pretty noticebale improvement in low-mid range!!
