polaris predator

never hear much about them but i mean the come stock pretty wicked. fox shocks, dougles rims and razors. my buddies uncle has it and will probably seel it pretty cheap to him its a 2003 rode about 10/15 hours i think. and then put away in a barn we are going to clean it up tomorrow and change the oil and all the fluids. is there anything to look for on these things and are they even any good. i mean we will take it for a rip tomorrow but just any opinions would be great and maybe even some videos of them running?

Hey Brook.My cuzin is got one , I think its slow piped, jetted. k&n pod, and up to a 16 tooth on the front and its slow it will not take my shee when its only had a little work done to it . 2. the seating sucks will for me is does ' I found seating right on the bars but it might be cuz iam 6'2 .. 3. his is having trany problems with it and the parts are 500$ for it + the shop . over all i think its just a big slow 4 poke .. oh its a 03 too

i had a 03 troy lee and it was a great quad had it three years never had any problems with it. its not going to beat any modded banshees or yfzs but they run pretty strong with some mods.im 6 2 and i loved the seat kinda pushes you forward but ive heard some hated it.i liked the suspension also overall i think its a good quad if it has been taken care of

tell your buddy to save himself some headache and get a banshee or even a 450 predators are a waste. they might have some nice things about them but the stock yfz shocks will kill those fox ones and the stock yfz will out-pull that predator easily

the predators are nice looking but i got on a trx 450 and its was a nice ride and had more power. but iam sure for the price i can get your friend a 02 shee with pipes and back up parts for a good dollor and he would be more happer on a shee then a 4 poke

I had a 03' predator. I liked it alot. Its not a Drag quad but for your average rider I think its pretty damn nice. I beat some banshee's with it in some drags so its not to slow. I had my predator lightly modded. I think if he can pick it up pretty cheap he'll like it. The only thing I didn't like with my predator was the tranny's ratios were a bit too far apart and it didn't like to be short shifted. they fixed this problem in the newer models. If he does get it, drop down a tooth on the counter sprocket it seemed to help with the ratio's, 16 tooth is a bit much and would really make the wide ratio tranny noticeable and be a turd out of the hole.
