dajogejr Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 i have to look at my bike again (its been about 6 months since it went into storage) but i have T3's and the K&N filter thing. but its partly wronging rough so i need to get that fixed. each of my brothers have bikes to (yz125, and a yz250) i wanna be able to smoke all of them any time i want. You're not smoking a two stroke dirt bike that weighs half as much as yours with nearly the same HP....sorry... Now, put a good port job, etc., on that bike...it's a different story... Quote
michigan_soler Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 the 250 is p&p'd (and pipe) and the 125 is P&P'd and also is 20 over. (with pipe) the 400 has pipes and thats about it. i have a problem with shifting because i can't lift my foot, i have to do my whole get to shift (disease when i was 2 hit mainly my legs) that is my next change i have to make. figuring out a heel shift for up and toe for down. but that is once the shee is running correctly. dajogejr Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Any modern 250 dirt bike, 90's to current (possibly earlier) has mid-40 HPs..give or take, bone stock out of the factory. Any modern 125, same years, mid thirties. Add on the fact they're ported....forgetaboutit. Your bike, weighing roughly twice as much, was low to mid 30s on HP. With all the bolt ons, you might be low to mid 40s. You're not touching a 250....and probably not touching a 125 either. A bike has a power to weight ratio (not to mention, state of the art motors, not a 20 plus year old design) that is very hard to overcome. Now...OEM cylinders with the right porting, exhaust, bolt ons and carbs will pretty easily attain 70 + HP. Then, the race is much, much more feasible. Until then...if they guys on the bikes can ride, you're simply not going to beat them in a drag, on a track....etc. Quote
michigan_soler Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 father can ride... brothers, not so much. and its all just the dunes. Quote
