I got 97 banshee ported 4mil stroker 5mill long rod new motor v force 3s .I bought a set of new pj 34s thay have 152 and 55 jets. The screws are turnd all the way in to get it to run and not bog when you rev it up. I think i need a richer pilot jet to fix that prob but heres the one im haveing trouble with. When its wide open it popes and falls on its face. i think the cdi box is bad because it wont start some times and i can plug my buddys cdi in and it fires right up is there any ony that has any ideas THANKS

I think you need to fix your ignition problem before you rule it jetting. 55 is a very rich pilot, it's what we run around here for the pilot in ALKY bikes....which, as you may know...require twice the fuel as gas bikes do.

Bob...I think I replied to your post in another forum....

I have a stock 96 CDI that I know works. You would have to cut/splice wires, and I'll let you try it for free as long as it comes back to me with the harness/wires in as good of shape as can be expected.

You just pay shipping...and you can try it. Up to you...but, I think you have an electrical problem/Ignition problem first....then sort out your jetting.

not ruling anything out... but good info to know PJ carbs dont idle as ez as pwk's... i have talked with a few people that had PJ's and we all had the same problems getting the idle good on them...

dave th 55 pilot thing... idk his alt and what not but i ran a 55 in my carbs for a little bit... so he should be close...48-55 more then likely

You're right...I keep having a cub mindset. They typically like a larger main but smaller pilot...

I ran 48's in my 421 cub and it was probably still a hair rich.

Either way, I don't think his jetting is WAY off the chart, I think he's got electrical issues....especially popping on top.

I thought I read in another one of his posts, his bike will stop running, if he unplugs his CDI and plugs a buddies in, it fires right up....
