kojack Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 any one know witch way the stock reeds go in when mounted on the cage? with the gap at the bottom or no gap at the bottom? :shoothead: if your replacing with yamaha oem reeds there should be a cut corner that you allign with the reed stop cut corner. I replaced mine with vitos carbon reeds and there was no cut corner to allign. So it depends Quote

If you are replacing them with stock Yamaha replacements you need to find out what side makes for the flushest mounting to the reed block. The best possible scenario is one where you can flip the reeds one way or the other so that they "seal" to the reed block. If you can't get one to totally seal, try swapping it to another side or reed block. In theory you should be able to get them to all mount flush. I hope this is what you were talking about. Quote

chillls Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 does your replacement reeds have a cut corner? yes they do have a cut corner Quote
kojack Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 yes they do have a cut corner I dont have mine pulled but the pic in my clymer has the lower right corner circled on the reed stop as the area with the cut to match the reed. The picture is with the intake side being down and the petal stops being up in the air. If this makes any sense to ya. YOu might want to call farm and sand toys to be sure. Good luck http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/ Quote
