I have gotten sound tested at Silver Lake w/ my T5's and a hush kit. I ended up RIGHT at the legal limit. But the only time I have ever been tested was on the fourth of July weekend when they do random testing. So for the most part you shouldn't have much trouble, just make sure that you have fresh packing on holiday weekends.

I would much rather have the hush kit on then have to slap some sparkies on. Not to mention if you change to stock silencers you will probably lose some power. To me, the best alrenative is by far the hush kit and I actually like the way it looks. Goes good w/ all my billet and polished stuff.

My cousin has T5s with spark arrestors that go on with snap rings. They look really clean, since they aren't the hose clamp style. He is always over the limit when they test him, but they just tell him to repack before the next time. As stated before, the trick is to creep through while they are checking the park arrestor and flag.

EDIT: Just realized how old this post is..... I guess I am just excited for SL to open this year....
