sheefreak Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 I feel dumb, but anyway.... I have been here since 04 and can't figure out how to put an avatar up. I have tried from a pic hosting site, and I have tried to upload from computer. I keep getting invalid format. They are a Jpeg file I believe. I figured now that the web site automatically sizes them for you I would be good to go, but still no luck. Can someone dumb this process down for me??? Quote
wesw Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 your probably going to need a program to resize them to make an avatar. if you dont have one email me or pm me i can resize it, then you can save to your harddrive and then upload it. if you want. Quote
sheefreak Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 So that is the only reason it isn't letting me? I appreciate the offer and may send one to you, but would like to try and figure it out first. Do you know of any free downloadable programs I can use? That is another thing.... Everytime I post a pic it is small and have to enlarge to really see it well. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 You can use MS paint to make an image smaller or larger...it comes standard Windows OS. Go to your "start" button, programs, accessories, then paint. Open your pic using the program and then click "image" at the top of the program. Choose scale/skew and it will bring up a window that will let you choose how much you want to shrink it. It's not the "best" tool to use but it works and is free. You may have to scale it down a few times until you get it right, but if you go too far, you can always go to edit, then undo. Be sure to save your picture as a jpeg too  Quote
sheefreak Posted December 29, 2006 Author Report Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks Bigboy and Wes! I belive they are already a Jpeg format. I will give it a shot. Quote
