hey guys. my bikes leakin oil out the main seal right where the sprocket is located. turns out that a bolt is spinning and there was a helicoil put in proviously. so what can i do as a permanent fix since the jerk i bought my bike off of had pout the helicoil in? can i take that one out and "re-helicoil" it or tap it and use a new sized bolt? it's on the top case half in the back over the sprocket,so what do u guys think i should do?

I would think you could replace the helicoil. Just make sure that when you remove the old one that you clean the threads really well (you don't want any oil on them) and then apply the right amount of Loctite before installing the new helicoil.

In my experience a helicoil that is done correctly can be as strong or stronger than the original threads.

a helicoil is alot stronger than just tapping threads, the only reason it came out is because it wasnt installed right , probably didnt brake off the little tab after he threaded in the helicoil
