okbeast Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I've heard it can't be done because of the ball joints being welded in...so what does everyone do? Just paint them and put on alot of clearcoat? I'm worried about them getting trashed if they're just painted. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 you should be able to pc them if you can gt the rubber off... tape the parts that dont need to be pc'ed and then they hit them with the gun and then pull the tape and bake it... replace the boots... shouldnt be a problem... Quote
okbeast Posted November 21, 2006 Author Report Posted November 21, 2006 I just read a post the other day saying you couldn't do it b/c it would freeze up the joints and ruin all the grease? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 i dont know man my bike hasnt had stock arm the entire time i had it... so i dont have stock arms to go look at to help you out... if they are anything like 95% of aftermarket arms the rubber boot can come off and be repacked with grease... you just got to cover what you dont want to have pc stick too and then get a new boot and repack it when your ready... ohiobanshee Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Inside the stock balljoint is plastic or nylon when you bake the p/c on it melts. Been there done that ruined a set of a arms. :: Quote
