DaBigHert Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 (edited) I just took apart my carbs to clean them and found they only have 200 mains. I live at sea level and the bike has a 2-1 pro-flow air filter and fmf fatty's w/ powercore 2's. Is there any way this could be right? The bike seems to run well. I know I could do the plug chop, but I don't really have a place to get the bike wide open. Edited November 15, 2006 by DaBigHert Quote

Big Blue Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 2:1 like a single carb? if so it is not to small. Quote

okbeast Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Are they stock carbs? Some aftermarket carbs have different ranges or #'s for jets. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 well stock is 230 on any shee ive seen so yeah to me that is way small Stock is 210 in 87 to 89, 90 to current stock main is 200. A dealer may change out the main if they are in extreme cold temps or very high elevation to compensate. By two into one air filter....do you mean the airbox is gone all together? If so, get 27.5 pilots (one size up from stock) and 280 Mains. The fact you can't run wide open long probably doesn't change the fact you need richer mains than that with pipes at sea level.... Quote
DaBigHert Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 (edited) I'm sorry if I'm confusing everyone w/ the 2-1 air filter. It's got a pro-flow filter w/ airbox lid still on. Edited November 15, 2006 by DaBigHert Quote
dajogejr Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Ok...thanks! 260ish on the mains then. 280 no lid, 320 to 340 with no airbox, pod filters. Fatty's like a larger pilot...but, with an airbox AND the lid, I'd say one step up to 27.5 will do you right. Quote
