Anyone in here use Solidworks? Ive been playing with it a bunch lately and I want to try to model some parts, but im having trouble making patterns. I want to create a flange with 8, 3/8-24 holes tapped, but i havent figured out how to use the circle pattern command, and i dont even know if this is the right one to use in the first place.

If you want, load up some drawings for some pointers.

Thanks, Cole

I've used it a couple of times, but I didn't get much time to play around with it. Look for a polar array comand or something similar. Sorry, if it was AutoCAD, UG, or CATIA I could be more of a help. I work mostly with V4 and V5.

good luck

Never used solidworks but I just got done with ProE last semester. Some pretty cool stuff on it.

you should look into it. from what i hear Pro-E is much less user friendly than SW.

Thanks Firehead, I dont really know of a good way to post the file either. Do you mind telling me what command to start with? I think if I find the right strating point ill be able to go from there.

A circular array or pattern is how you get it done. The trick I believe, is having a centerline of the array drawn for construction. Let me know if that works for ya.
