baddsheee Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Here are some plug pics. Trying to jet the Passion dune ported cylinders. 32.5 pilots, 1/2 air screw out, 330 mains, 4th clip position on needles. It has T5's, 2n1 toomey foam filter, +4 timing. Running 40:1 927 mix. Any feedback will be helpful, Thanks Here is another pic Quote
dajogejr Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Unless Jim's dune port like HUGE pilots, I'd say you're way fat there. Rings look pretty good. Maybe a hair bigger than 2mm...which, just means you're probably a hair rich, and SAFE... I'd try 27.5 pilots, to be honest. 30 is the largest I'd go.... If it runs clean, leave it. 4 clip on stock needles? I'm assuming you mean 4th clip from the blunt end, I wouldn't doubt a good dune port wants more fuel in the middle... They look pretty good overall.... Quote
ellison445 Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Looks a bit rich, other than that pretty good! Quote
baddsheee Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 Thanks guys, On the 4th position I mean from the pointy end counting up. 2nd position from rounded area. If I can turn it on cold without using the choke, does that mean it is too fat, rich. It has 32.5 and air screw from seated is 0.5 (1/2) turn out. Is the air screw in make it leaner? Any suggestions on that? Quote
dajogejr Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Yep.... Put a 30 pilot in, 1.0 to 1.5 turns out. .5 turns out is too little in the adjustment range, and...when it's dead cold, you should have to use 1/2 or full choke if the temps are mild to cold.... Quote
baddsheee Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 Going to pick up some 30's tomorrow, thanks a lot. Give you a lot of props dajogejr. Not only have you helped me out this time but when I do searches for other stuff that I need or questions that I have, you are there with the answer. Good looking out. Quote

sheefreak Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 4th position from the pointy end sounds lean to me. I would at least run it in the middle position if not second notch from the pointy end. I agree w/dajogejr on the pilot. Quote
csrmel Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 im no plug chop expert or anything, but that looks really rtich to me. i would try some 310's or 300's and chop it again. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Color looks pretty good....Ideally you want a 2mm ring. However...who's to say it didn't get smeared a bit from sawing, etc. Yes, a little rich...not by much. Better safe than sorry... Quote
baddsheee Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 Wehn I ran the needle in the middle clip it was boggy in the mids. I pulled out the choke to see if it improved the mids and it just completely bogged out. 4th position made it runner alot better, cleaner. For the plug it does kind of look like a smear on half of a side. I cut them with a dremel cutting wheel. Here is another pic if it helps. Quote
ellison445 Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 You think we should start our jetting/repair war again  Go to your room now, Son... :yelrotflmao: Thanks, baddshee...I just happen to have a lot of time on my hands at work and at home.... Quote

The old choke trick is great!!! I think they're just fine, if not a tad rich. BIG DEAL!!! Go ride and have fun!! You think we should start our jetting/repair war again  Bring it on...sucka.... :yelrotflmao: You'll win...Jeff. I just had some BOMBS dropped on me at work, not as much time to screw around and check the boards. My production is down...dammit...LOL... Quote
wesw Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 jim motor like lot of fuel. i personnaly think your damn close i would go down a main probably be perfect. how does it rev coming off idle to wot. if it pulls hard then i wouldnt adjust the pilot. his motors like richer pilots and mids. if its sluggish you might try the 30 pilot but doubt it. let us know hows she runs. tuning on it isnt to bad right??
