06BansheeSE Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Does anyone on this board do custom powder coating or know someone who does? I have an all black banshee and i would like to keep everything black, so i was wondering if i buy parts that are billet or a different color if i could send it out to get powder coated? Thanks! ClimbAnyHill Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 You can anodize the billet in black to make it look nice! Quote

blak banshee Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 anodizing looks more like a stain. Like if you put a stain finish on wood, you still see the grain. Im not sure of the process but I know its very durable. my bmx bike had some anodized parts on it and I dont remember them ever getting chipped or scratched and I put that bike through hell! the noss heads on the home page are anodized. Im sure someone else hear knows alot more about it than me but hope that helps. Quote

06BansheeSE Posted October 30, 2006 Author Report Posted October 30, 2006 Thank you Blak and Miami, you both have been a big help to me. That site is awesome also. Hey blak do you think the anodizing looks better for our color and kind of paint or do you think powder coating fits our black more? If the anodizing looks more like what our custom paint looks like then i want to get the parts anodized, but if powder coating looks more like it then i would do it that way? Anybody else feel free to chime in. My shee is the black special edition and i want everything black. Thanks! Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 I think it would give your bike different tones of black & that's a good thing. One way to describe anodizing is kind of like colored chrome. Quote

Example: If i have one part powder coated and some other parts anodized it will still look good as long as its black? Thanks! Quote

Exactly, I think glossy black powdercoating next to mirror finish black anodize would give it a great look. Some one in here has to have pix to show you! Quote
