i have narrowed my problem down to my right crank seal being bad, so i'm tearing the engine down today. i'm putting a new crank in, new pistons, ect. can anyone tell me if getting the jugs ported and polished is going to make a big difference in hp? also do those toomey t.6's make a difference in hp too? i want to do everything right and have basically a new motor for recreational use. i want this shee to really scream when i'm done. what is a shift star? i have been having trouble with the way it shifts and finding neutral and i want to fix that when i'm in the cases. is it just as good to have my crank welded and trued rather than replace it ?thats alot cheaper but i want to do it right. if i do it should i replace the rods and bearings? please give me some input

Your crank would need to be inspected before anyone could tell you wether its good or bad. Pipes and porting are the 2 biggest improvements on a Banshee. A "modded" shift star is one that is modded (corners rounded) so that it makes the bike shift easier. T6s are a good pipe for all around increase and trail riding. It would be a good idea to talk to a builder, maybe send them your jugs (to either freshen up, port , or just inspect) true / weld your crank, and get your parts. Also makes it nice if you can get your parts & labor all done at a 1 stop shop to save time and shipping!

Your best bet is to do what fastoys just said, he is an engine builder and does real good work and can set you up with the right setup for your riding style. He built my engine from top to bottom, You need to give em a call and figure out a game plan. Good luck to you.
