This is my GF's blaster i bought for her. ran excellent for about 2 weeks.

starts up 2nd kick with choke on. let it warm up take choke off still runs ok with thumb on throttle. anytime you give it gas it bogs down and wants to die. if you let it die its extremely hard to start back up, have give it a sliver of gas and sometimes it'll chug chug chug chug and start to run.

ive done:

new spark plug

new spark plug boot

new gas

checked reeds (felt fine)

cleaned entire carb out (jets, etc... everything)

checked for air leaks, tightend up all nuts and bolts around engine (except head bolts were already super tight)

tried it with TORS unplugged (i already mix gas)

checked petcock valve

dont know what else to do... im at a loss

it did run once...

i see you have a pipe , what jet size do you have in there and also have you removed the airbox lid ?

you need more airflow when you put a pipe on your quad.

if you need more help with the blaster come over www.projectblaster.com and ill do my best to help you

i can remember what jet it has. i think i remember seeing 140? but that might have been my 350x. lol i took the carbs apart the same day.

it ran awesome, all the way to the top when i first got it.

the pipe is a FMF fatty, and the airbox lid is removed, and also there was a high flow filter on there.

but it does this no matter what i do. even w/ no filter

i will join your forums later today.

cound there be crud in the gastank or the fuel line restricting flow to the carb?

pull the line off the carb and turn the fuel on. make sure the gas flows out really good.

Unplugging the TORS and the oil injection have nothing to do with each other, that I know of.

If you've cleaned the carb out very good....I'm sure someone here knows how to unplug and short out the TORS on a blaster..

Did you block off the oil injection properly since you're premixing?

Fist thing you need to do is see what jetting is in there now, and compare it to what is supposed to be stock. Then...do a rough estimate on how much that should change based on the air filter, open lid airbox and pipe....

How long are you letting it idle during warm up? I've heard of alot of people letting it sit too long and it will actually flood the plug out before you ever take off. That would answer it idleing good, but not responding right when you give it gas. Even with a new plug, if you are letting it idle too long, it could be doing this. But like the other guys have said, check to see what jet is in it right now, and then go from there.

i will go take the carb off again and clean it out again and check the jet

as for the oil injection none of that shit is on there anymore except the TORS deal ontop of the carb

it wont really idle i have to keep my thumb on the throttle to keep it running.

this is like 30 seconds before it starts acting up and doing wierd shit

PS:

everyone please remember this thing ran perfectly about 1 week ago, for about 3 tanks.

Here is a video showing exactly what it does.

This is a fresh plug, good gas, just cleaned the entire carb.

the jet is a 310, but keep in mind the engine is 280cc. and it ran great before

280cc...

the engine cant be bigger then 240cc , and if it would be bigger your jet would be way too small .

i have a 240 big bore kit and im runing a 370 main jet.

your engine is probably stock bored at .080 that means your jet is too big and thats why your engine bugs like that , if you check your sparkplug youll see that it is way too black , go get a 280 main jet and put it in your carb and check the plus , if its black you need a smaller het if its white you need a bigger jet , the sparkplug need to be a nice golden brown

when i bought it the guy told me "280cc"

i test rode a powroll 230 blaster with a pipe and silencer and this blaster would take a gigantic shit on it.

it could be a custom job to get it to 280cc.

KEEP IT MIND. this thing RAN PERFECT. for about 2 weeks, nothing has changed except for the fact that it runs like shit now.

the needle is all the way up.

should i try a 280 jet anyways? the plug is not black or white it still looks brand new, althought when i twas running the jet would get a little black...

to add CCs you would need to put a bigger sleeve in the head of the engine , the guy was totally wrong when he told you its a 280cc i am more then sure its a stock sleeve bored to .080 you know why ?

because you would need a huge jet if it would be a 280cc i have a 240cc and im runing a 370main jet , you would have blow your engine in your first ride.

like i said , put a 280 main jet and the thing will runs good again but dont forget to check your plug and do some little test to be sure its the right size!

gf is picking up a 280 jet on her way home. will be here tonight.

any theory why it ran fine before on the 310 jet?

its possible the guy was a fuckstick and thought going .80 over would mean 80 more ccs but he didnt look THAT stupid.

Will try the new jet, i dont really care what solves the problem as long as she gets to ride it.

also, the guy was putting maxim oil in the gas, and i have been using dumont? ithink it is. comes in a red bottle. he said 32:1 and thats what ive been using.

also, what is the correct setting for the mixture screw? i was told 2 1/2 out

well she got a 290 jet, put that sucker in there and does the same thing.

if i take the entire air box off, and let it suck straight into the carb it seems to run awesome. itll rev up and not bog at all.

but when i put it in gear and put a load on the motor it dies.
