Sprocket size advice

Hello

I am looking for the ideal sprocket sizes for my bike.

I know the standard size is 14/41t.

I drive mainly roads and some trails so I need a good top speed.

I got douglas red label with maxxis street tires.

I don't now the sizes but the wheels are a lot smaller on the back than

the standard rims.

So i lost a lot of top speed.

The maximum is about 70mph.

I want to get to about 90 mph when possible.

My shee is practicly OEM but I'm gonna have a Noss head with 20cc domes,

a trinity stage IV exhaust, K&N pod's, right jets, dune port (probably)

So what sprocket size do I need to get to that kind of top speed, (a loss in bottom in not

important for me)?

Thx for the answers

Fred

Good luck...

Small tire size (I guess you got 18's) are gonna kill ya....

Here's a calculator to estimate, but it does not take into consideration if your motor can actually "pull" that gearing.

I'd say with a good strong dune port it might...but, 90MPH on an 18 inch rear tire...is gonna be hard.

You'll have to go 16/38 or so to do it...that's a HUGE gearing change....

When you say the wheels on back are smaller, do you mean the rim diameter, tire diameter???

Here's the calc:

Fred...

The majority (I'd say 90%) of riders use their shees for trail or dunes, etc.

Obviously, you live in a location that allows for street driving...

In the future, this would be helpful info to know up front, since I'd say 95% of the people that read this post would assume you meant 18inch outside diameter on the rear tires...like a motocross tire...

Just trying to help a bit...

Hello;

Puttin on a new sprocket with 17teeth today.

It goes a lot faster now and is more fun to cruise on low rpm

on the streets.

So when i use the converter I come at about 86Mph and I think

I am getting to that speed.

Not sure though,It doesn't rev quiet as high as before.

Probably not enough power?

But it's more pleasent to drive now.

When I get my trinity pipes the power will be raised a bit

so I hope it will be able to fully rev out 6th gear?

WFG
