Tires, gear ratio, launch technique, and terrain are all important factors to drag racing. You should be able to take that 450 with your mods. Granted, I have alot more done, but I have done well with less. When all I had was Pipes, silencer, reeds, and ITP rear tires (20-11-9), dropping the bomb in second gear would have me running away from most of the competition on loose dirt or quarry sand. Now with the setup I have now, the 15/41 gearing and the killer grip of the Raz'r II's, bombing first and hitting second not even 2 seconds later seems to get the job done. Good luck.

The cheapest way maybe to beat him out the hole is to mess with ure gearing and go smaller, but overall it will change your top end..

i would say tyres are youre biggest problem.

 

i was dragging some other banshees a few weekends ago and they had paddles, they would get me out of the hole every single time and have a few bike lengths on me by the 60 foot because i was running stock dunlop tyres. from a rolling start however, i would beat them by a few bike lengths.

 

good tyres seem to be a very important key to getting out of the hole quickly.

i hear the bottle is not a good thing. i beat the yfz 450 with my mods, was going out this morn to race a 450r hopped up, but it was too damn cold out. take a look at my mods.by the way with the mods i have done,i run the stock carbs at sea level with 320 main jets.
