Depending on how bad it is.

You're going to dissasemble and clean the case half inside out before you get it welded.

Depending on how bad it is, you MIGHT want to puchase a used case...they're really not that much...

Hope you know how to weld Alum.! You are going to have to split those cases and take everything out of them to get it done. Including the little seal and bearing that your clutch actuator arm rides on. Both sides of the crack have to be pretty hot for alum. to be properly welded and it will get hot enough to trash that bearing and seal in there. Post pics!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking J....

If it's that bad, it might be worth just getting a stock case used vs. trying to fabricate and weld it with not much material to work with....:)

I've done that too! On my old warrior. I used high temp oil resistant epoxy though. Held for 3 years then cracked off and I cleaned it up and put another layer on there and it held for another couple years.

My cases cracked when I finially broke a chain not too long ago. I took them to work and welded the crack up with my tig. Looks good and works good! I was lucky enough to have it not crack anywhere it could leak though, just split along that top edge. Easy fix! Next time I'm out in the shed with my camera I will post pics of the welds for you.
