I remember whe bob built my raptor the clutch would slip after i got it back and i had a hinson 6 spring clutch system. and he said he would put another metal and all big fibers not im not sure bout a banshee but it seems that u could possible do the same thing on the banshee to get the same results anyone know.?

They make a system for the banshee that uses 8 and 9 and I've seen some people on PS rig them to use 10 plates. Run over to planetsand and ask them, there's a couple guys over there that have done it. Gives your clutch a lot more grabbing surface, combine that with some heavy duty springs and you are good to go.

 

Or just get a lockup kit. LOL

I think what he's trying to say is...does the lockup replace the pressure plate (I wasn't sure) and...what are all the complete items to buy for a clutch.

 

I agree...it's easier to read, comprehend and understand with some punctuation there, bud.

 

Basket, Fibers and Steels, Springs (Get HD springs if you're not going to run a lockup, Non-HD if you are going to run a lockup) innter and outer hub and the lockup plate. Again...not sure if you need the inner hub..or, pressure plate.

 

But, as we've discussed, you do need a modded side cover for clearance should you go lockup.

Seems to me that a lock up clutch will cost like somewhere in the range of 500 dollars. and all the clutch componets u can buy are going to cost about 800. So why dont ppl just get the lockup VS buying all the clutch kits?

Not even close.... You must be pricing a Hinson 9 disk setup.

 

You can buy a new clutch fibers, steels and springs for less than a hundo.

A clutch basket for 150.

Inner and outer for like 60.

Lockup for 100, plus the side case, varies from 200 to 250....

 

Around 6 bills for it all, lockup style.

 

If you just went and replaced your basket (non-Hinson) plates, fibers and springs, it'd be 2 1/2 bills about....

 

I'm still puzzled why someone would spend 800 on a 9 plate Hinson when a lockup is cheaper, and will work better period.

the smaller "cc" the smaller the combustion area. higher octane is required as you go smaller than stock sized domes (22 i think?) and the crank needs welded when you start running more compression or above 50-ish hp.

 

I run the 17's because of the altitude I ride at. Me running 16cc and 17cc domes is the same as guys at sea level running 18's or 19's or pretty close. When I go to lower altitudes to ride I change them out for some bigger ones.
