How do I know what size jets I have? I just got a 97 shee and i'm cleaning it up and getting it to run better. I couldn't see any markings on the jets, but i believe they are the stock carbs. The guy I got it from had no clue, he said he had the bike for a year and never changed anything on it.

the numbers are stamped into the jets.

Look on the bottom of the jet, same suface the hole is bored through. It can be hard to read the

#'s on old jets with a lot of tarnish.

Those are some tiny numbers, had to get out a magnifying glass to see them. Looks like

340 and 25

I just go the bike, and I don't think the last guy had it set up well. It's a 97, i will be running is

1000 altitude

usually fron 75-95 degrees

stock bore, not porting

stock reeds

fmf fatty pipes

stock filter with a lid once I get one

most of my riding is tight rocky muddy trails, don't need much top speed I rarely get my tecate out of 3rd gear.

Should I change these jets? How about the exhaust, would i be better off with the stock pipes to get more low end and midrange power?

Thanks

I'd say you're WAY rich on the main, stock pilot is 25...so, you're good there, FMFs do like a fatter pilot, though...so, maybe...

With pipes and an airbox normally you're in the 270 range or so...

Thanks guys, i'll have to stop by the local shop and pick up a few sets to try, at least they're pretty cheap. And thanks for the reeds keith, get a chance to try out the v3's yet? I gotta wait until the weekend until i get a day off to put this bike back together.
