race-a-holic Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 (edited) It was hot. The quads that showed up was:2 banshees(myself and Michael) and Lee's 450 suzuki. I run a best of 7.38. Michael ran a best of 8.26. Lee run a 9.10. Mine has problems. It's spinning the wheels quite easily inside the tires.I've got to put screws in the wheels and that will hopefully fix that problem.I was topping out about 3/4 down the track.I didn't think it would be possible before today but high 6's should be possible. On the 7.38 pass,it was pulling extremely hard.I think my arms are a little longer now.LOL! Michael blew a base gasket. He laid a whoopin' upon a small crotchrocket.I think it was a 600GSXR.I think. They actually run close times, but Michael got a huge holeshot. Lee's done really good considering all he's done is remove the airbox lid and baffle. He also added a cherry bomb.Besides that,it's stock. Hey Travis,I hope to have it fixed before next weekend. It's too dangerous to launch hard.Once it got a little scary.I thought I might be going into the fence.Fortunately,I got off the throttle in time. It responds very quickly. Edited July 17, 2006 by race-a-holic Quote

race-a-holic Posted July 17, 2006 Author Report Posted July 17, 2006 Screws are cheaper.LOL! Here's some pictures of Michael. Quote
J-Madd Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 What was yours and Michael's gearing? I'd like to run mine there and get a time slip. I can launch mine on pavement and lay on the freakin back and it still won't raise the front end. It just spins for about 20 ft then hooks. I had it lowered in the back, but I've raised it back up to stock to try to get some weight transfer for traction. BTW there were 3 of us on Banshees at Sand Creek Saturday. Not a soul there, though. We might go back this Sunday. I know my Cub Banshee sucks to ride there, so I take my YFZ too. Quote
race-a-holic Posted July 20, 2006 Author Report Posted July 20, 2006 George Ray's doesn't give timeslips. They just call out the times. We may be going to Newport this saturday night. They do give out timeslips.I'd like to see how bad I can beat your cub.LOL! J/K. Talking about traction. You may hook up at george's.My friend Michael usually blows the tires off but he hooks up pretty good there. He uses 15/41 gearing(stock transmission). I use 18/38 (1-5 Tyson over-ride).May actually need taller gearing. Not sure though. My rims were actually spinning inside the slicks.I just drilled the wheels and installed screws to "hopefully" stop this like the drag car guys do.If everything works out,I'm expecting at least a 7.00 e.t. 6's should be in the near future. race-a-holic Posted July 20, 2006 Author Report Posted July 20, 2006 Michael is going to try and find a base gasket so he can make it this weekend. Not sure if I can get off work saturday or not yet.I also have to see if Travis can make it saturday. If not,I'll be going to george's sunday. That's alot of "if's". Quote
