here in washington atv have title, registation, and if your orv sticker is not on or up to date your looking at a couple hundred in ticket or impounded bike (depending if the ranger is a prick or not)

 

Not that big of a deal to me, like $30 a year but if you can't transfer the canadain title to WA then no ride on anything but track.

most riding places here, dont look at what year bike you have,, you just sign a release and youre good to go

Quite often the case is anything that gets imported to the US for motor vehicles, if they are illegal to sell in the US, they have 'importers' which essentially get the motor shipped separately from the rest of the frame/body. This could go for the Canada banshee where if you had someone to take out the engine you could have two trucks go up there, pick up the engine and the rest separately.

 

When you assemble it in the US you register it as a "kit". Not only is this a loophole for legitimacy, it is also cheaper for registration and often insurance.

 

People do that with right-side drive Skylines, etc. There are special importers for it. Just have to be careful who you can trust.

 

There are stipulations state-by-state though.
